An Integration Approach of Data Mining with Web Cache Pre-fetching

چکیده

Web caching plays a very important role for improving the performance of many Web-Based systems. As web cache capacity is limited, most web cache systems are using replacement algorithm to wash out the outdated data. In this paper, we proposed a novel web cache prediction method,which can cooperate with existing web cache replacement algorithms to improve both file hit rate and byte hit rate dramatically. Our web cache prediction method is based on the fact that, many clients usually have some kinds of regular procedures to access web files, such that the regular-procedure knowledge can be mined or learned by web cache system and files can be pre-fetched accordingly . In our experiment, we applied data mining algorithm to cooperate with very simple web cache replacement algorithm, we used real web log to achieve good hit rate and byte hit
